New Calendar in Web Site
One of our goals this year is to improve communication between the school and our parents and families. One of our firsts efforts is to make easier to keep track of upcoming school events. In the past, we have always featured an announcement column on the front page of our weekly newsletter, “Panther Tracks,” and a calendar page on the school website.
I’ve heard from parents that both of these efforts fall a little short. The calendar that has been linked to the website page has been the district school usage calendar. To say the least, it is not the most user friendly calendar, especially when you just want to know when the next Roller skate night is scheduled. Likewise, the announcement column in Panther Tracks is great, but if you forget a date of event, you might have to look back over a few issues to find the announcement you are looking for.
To improve this, we have created a new calendar on the website, that is much easier to read and understand. Right now it just shows the major school events. In the coming weeks we will also add information about field trips, and the rotating class schedule. We will continue to publish announcements and dates in Panther Tracks, but I hope you will find this new calendar more helpful.
